The Scene
With an upbeat attitude and great prices, this burger mecca draws big crowds. "Bubba Girls" take orders on a welcoming wooden porch that's scattered with barstools and benches. Photos of Hollywood's finest munching on burgers adorn the walls. With the classic Bubba's phrase, "We cheat tourists, drunks and attorneys," splattered about the room, patrons can't help but giggle at the wacky way this burger joint has fostered a loyal following.
The Food
Always juicy and never greasy, the classic Bubba Burger is famous for relish and plentiful onions--if you don't want the latter, say so. Although the menu is small, it includes a Ginger Teriyaki Tempeh Burger for the no meat crowd. Another option is the fish burger, a filet bathed in a flavorful batter and deep-fried to perfection. Onion rings and chili fries are made with just the right amount of grease-to-batter ratio for optimal crunch and satisfaction.
