The Pulse of Kailua. I have been dining at this restaurant since 1968 when I first came to Hawaii. This place has kept it's original charm and grace for all those years. It has an ambience that is unique and one of a kind. It is a place to take friends or family when it has to be memorable and has to be right. If every restaurant had a salad bar like Buzz;s they would be loved like Buzz's is. Presidents eat here as well as locals like me. I live in Ohio now but Kailua is my home town and when I am gone I really miss this place because there is no place like it on earth!

Best Food In Hawaii. Buzz's is right across the street form Kailua Beach Park, which makes it the perfect spot for happy hour. The perfect beach day ends on the deck at Buzz's with fresh sashimi and a "BFRD" - big effing rum drink" - which is their mai tai. It's amazing, but strong! Then, you have to stick around to have dinner - order the fresh fish "Chinese Style", it's poached, with sesame oil, soy sauce, and somethin' else. Hit's the spot. I MISS IT!!!

Warning - they only take cash. People love it, I don't know why. Have to wait over an hour for dinner seating; food is decent not great. Steaks are good but not worth price, which you will pay with cash.

Cramped and crowded. Walk in the door to the hostess stand and you are already in everyone's way. Have to stand over other people at their tables when in line for salad bar, which is by kitchen so the waitstaff has to get past you too. Too moisy; some people like the "buzz" but I'd rather hear. Service okay, usually very busy & too noisy for them to hear you so they just throw plates down & disappear before you can ask them for anything else.

Plus side, drinks are REALLY strong. Taste bad, but after one or two I didn't hear the crowd anymore, I just talked loud like everyone else.

Buzz's is GREAT. I lived in Kailua for 7 years and have been to Buzz's about 15 times, including New Years Eve. I found it to be consistently FABULOUS and a GREAT value. I would haved the salad bar, eat half my entree and have the rest for the next day. I LOVE the place.

Heavy Menus. This restaurant has great food but you do pay for it. I have dined here a few times and it is always good. The only negatives are the high prices and the heavy wood menus. And the menus aren't that heavy, so just the one negative.

disappointment. i know that clinton ate there, but i don't see what all the hype is about. it's expensive and the food is good enough, but nothing special. the salad bar could use some work. on a positive note, the fresh lime margarita was tasty.
