Editorial Review for Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea – by Suz Andreasen
The Scene
The soothing sounds of fountains and waterfalls welcome you at this oceanfront oasis on the sunny southern side of Maui. Here, sophistication and good taste are the standard. Manicured gardens and a prime seaside location create an atmosphere that's hard to beat. The professional, multilingual staff is friendly and knowledgeable.
The Details
Thanks to the crescent-shape of the eight-story building, the majority of rooms overlook the ocean. Grand mountains and terraced gardens likewise create stunning views. Elegant accommodations are big on comfort, with overstuffed divans, large lanais and spacious marble bathrooms. Entertainment options include golf, tennis, biking and deluxe fitness and spa facilities. Blanched-white beach cabanas add comfort (and style) to a full day at the beach. A variety of restaurants and lounges include Wolfgang Puck's Spago and the open-air Pacific Grill.

This has to be the best resort I have ever stayed. My boyfriend and I were her for 5 nights. This is like taking 5 zanex. You can't get more relaxed and pamperd. This Hotel/Resort anticipates your next thought and move. The service is amazing, The food is yummmy. This place doesn't nickle and dime you for everything. You get so much. The best morning ritual was doing Yoga on the beach, then snorkling later on watching sea turtles and exotic fish. You won't wanna leave. I wan't to move in permanant.
Pros: They anticipate your next every thing
Cons: It does get expensive, but hey this is heaven

The resort is at Wailea beach, which is great for snorkeling, and the resort provides cabanas and lounge chairs on the beach, on the resort with a beach view, and by the pool. My partner and I spent a week at the resort for my birthday. The staff treated us royally. They upgraded our room from an ocean view to a club ocean view. The club floor has several food and beverage presentations throughout the day, and a dedicated coincerage to help with all your sightseeing, reservations, etc. The club room also has complimentary Internet and two balconies with great views of the pool and ocean. Despite that we are two women with two different last names, the staff knew who was who and correctly addressed us by our respective last names. Significantly, the staff throughout the resort treated us with the same respect they would give to a married man and woman. The service was impeccable, and on the off chance that something did go wrong, the staff fixed the problem right away and to our satisfaction. For instance, one afternoon as we lounged in our ocean-view cabana, we had very slow food and beverage service. We paid the bill, but politely informed them of the slow service. The pool manager called the room to find out what had happened, but we were not there. The next day, when we obtained a pool cabana, the pool manager came by and said that our drinks and food that afternoon would be comped due to the slow service the day before. The restaurants are excellent. We had dinner and lunch at Ferraro's, which was great, but my birthday dinner at Spago's was the best. Many travel magazines rate the Halekulani in Honolulu as the best in service in Hawaii. We stayed at the Halekulani after our stay at the Four Seasons Maui, and the Halekulani has great service, but it did not exceed that of the Four Seasons Maui. For service, romance, and location, I highly recommend the Four Seasons Maui.
Pros: Service, Location
Cons: Very Expensive
