The Scene
Foodies flock to the granite-topped tables in this hip eatery that manages to maintain a laid-back ambience. Chefs and servers hustle and bustle around the open kitchen and gleaming chrome and tile workspace to recreate Roy's signature dishes. A bevy of waitpersons offer a barrage of attention.
The Food
A menu that changes daily blends European techniques with ingredients from Asia and the Pacific. Fresh local fish, produce, meats and game are made into a wildly creative array of appetizers, salads, pastas, pizzas and entrees. A Hawaiian swordfish is given a spicy Thai kick with peanut curry sauce. For something simple and light, try the crab cakes. Richer entrees include black rice risotto with truffle lobster sauce. Desserts are equally fanciful with banana chocolate cheesecake and the Lava Flow, billed as an "eruption" of chocolate custard, caramel and cashews with a crispy, graham-cracker crust, strawberries and vanilla ice cream.

I love Roys it has never failed me at any of its locations including this one in Kauai. The food was exceptional and the service was outstanding.

The food was below average for the price. We had to ask the servers to slow the kitchen down so we could take our time with the tasting menu.
Pros: open doors, easy access, good parking
