The Scene
Beyond the Victorian porches of the Plantation Inn lies chef and owner Gerard Reversade's sophisticated culinary gem. Paned glass windows add to the romantic atmosphere of a French country inn. Diners can sit inside the dining room, outside on the veranda, or on the garden patio. Refined without being snooty, staff is professional and accommodating.
The Food
Traditional French dishes are prepared with island produce and seafood. Fresh ingredients such as fish, Kauai beef and locally grown vegetables are gathered each morning. Lobster salad with vinaigrette de curry is a great way to warm the palate. Shiitake and oyster mushrooms in a puff pastry, served as a side or an appetizer, is infused with savory hints of wild ginger and lemon. For an entree, rack of lamb is a popular favorite. From the sea, roasted Hawaiian snapper with herbs is a fabulous option. The ever-changing menu keeps things interesting for return visitors.

This is by far my favorite restuarant in Maui. It is located in the Plantation Inn in Lahaina. The restuarant is quaint, cozy and charming. The service is excellent and the food is oh-so-good. The portions are huge as well! (which came as a surprise to me and my husband... a pleasant surprise for my husband =]) Our fish entres were faaaaabulous. The wine we order was delicious. My mushrooms in puff pastry appetizer was good, but I really loved my husband's crab cake appetizer!!! it was filled with big chucks of crab meat... excellent. OHH.... and the creme brulee dessert was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO good.... the caramalized sugar top of the creme brulee was soo thick it was like brittle... almost like two desserts in one. This restuarant is our pick for best fine-dining in maui. (so skiip the much raved-about mama's fish house, and COME HERE INSTEAD!!!) enjoy!!!
Pros: decor, ambience, service, food, wine
