AMAZING. I LOVE THIS PLACE...definitely eat here for breakfast (best omelet i've had in Hawaii), and then come back again for lunch! And I suggest getting a cocktail with lunch, they are just as good as the food -- i'm in love with the Skinny Marga-Tini, it's made with TY KU citrus liqueur and if you look at the bottle at the bar, it's green and even lights up...it tastes as good as it looks!

BEST BREAKFAST AND LUNCH ON THE NORTH SHORE OF OAHU!. I HAD BREAKFAST AND LUNCH AT THE HUKILAU CAFE AND IT WAS THE BEST PLACE I HAVE BEEN TO IN A LONG TIME. I HAD THE SUPREME OMELET AND IT WAS SO GOOD. FOR LUNCH I HAD THE ROAST PORK WITH GRAVY AND IT WASNT YOUR USUAL SLICED THIN BUT STILL TOUGH KIND OF PORK THAT YOU GET AT MOST PLACES. IT WAS LIKE CHUNKS OF SHREDDED PORK WITH A VERY TASTY BROWN GRAVY. IF YOURE LOOKING FOR A BURGER THAT WILL FILL YOU UP TRY THE HUKILAU BURGER ( HAMBURGER,TERI BEEF, FRIED EGG, CHEESE, GRILLED ONIONS,LETTUCE, TOMATO, AND MAYONAISE ON A SESAME BUN) IT WAS THE BEST BURGER I HAD YET. I WOULD GO EVERY DAY IF I COULD.

Great Food. Just spent 5 days on Oahu and went there twice!(it was more than 30 minutes away from where we were staying in Waikiki) Everything was great! The french toast is to die for and the fried rice is superb. Very friendly staff and efficient service. They make you feel like you are a member of the family! Would go again, and again...

Rude local staff dislikes white tourists. Today I called the Hukilau Cafe at 10:20 AM to make sure they were still open, the lady who answered the phone told me they would be open for another 15 minutes. I arrived at the packed Cafe at 10:30 to place a to-go order and I was rudely told by the same lady that they were closed. This is the second time this has happened to me in two weeks. The same thing happened when I showed up at 1:40 PM (after calling) as they were putting up chairs in preparation for the 2 PM closing time. If I wasn?t vacationing in Laie I would not have made the same mistake twice. These events shocked me as the previous reviews made the staff sound very friendly, I found the local staff to be somewhat rude and unfriendly to white tourists. Hopefully you will have a better experience.

Editorial Review by Christy Buena. Locals and out of town visitors flock for the inexpensive "Hungry Hawaiian" breakfast platter served in ample portions.

Yummy Foods. This place has a fun local atmosphere, breakfast is an absolute must! I suggest the "Hungry Hawaiian" so you can sample just about everything good about local grinds.... also the ham, cheese, and mushroom omlete with rice is amazing. It's so comfortable there... everyone is friendly and are always up for talking story.
