The Scene
The former Kauai Surf turned Kauai Westin turned Kauai Marriott proves an excellent choice for families. This low-key time-share resort is a laid back property with plenty of activities for all ages. It has a great location in Lihue on the lovely mile-long beach fronting Kalapaki Bay. Unfortunately, this also puts it in the airport flight path.
The Details
Rooms are small with a mix of Old English and tropical chain-style decor. But the large, lovely pool, extensive grounds and interesting Asian art (a welcome holdover from the Westin days) stay true to the tropical surroundings. Among the many restaurants is Duke's, a burger joint, and Cafe Portofino, serving Italian food on the beach promenade. One great perk is wireless Internet in the ballroom and lobby. This service also reaches poolside for surfing the web while you soak in the sun.

This resort is the nicest one i have ever been to. The beach is perfect, not to calm or too rough. I would highly reccommend it.
