Murphy's Good To Go!.
Really? Stepped through the door to find a very nice interior parallel with Parnas Restaurant in Copenhagen, minus the clown paintings.
Aside from expecting a more "rustic" setting, the place looks very clean and a la carte. the menu absolutely follows suit.
I ordered the Salmon Pate for starters and the Grilled Lamb as the main course.
The pate was just wonderful, and it was served as I would have done it myself at one of my functions.
The lamb? Absolutely delicious. The only observation was when I prepare a rack of lamb, I ensure the meat is scorched just right, enough grilling time to ensure meat and bone separation, and I add a spoon full of mint jelly for the palate.
Other than that; the service was impeccable and spot on.
Will visit again with glee.
Always a great place for friends and family.
I've been making this my neighborhood bar and dining experience for a while. I didn't realize that some people had bad things to say about this place. I can surely say that once dined and forever bitten. Friendly service staff and wait help.
Stop by for a burger and a laugh or two. Always waiting for your next visit.
Try it, you'll like it!
Editorial Review by Christy Buena. Located in a 19th century saloon, the downtown pub serves a selection of cocktails, burgers, salads and seafood.
A Haven In Downtown Honolulu. Murphy's makes me proud to be a neighbor. I cannot imagine living in another city because Muprhy's is a one of a kind place. The proprietors keep the place homey, spotless and warm. Whether they are having an event for St Patrick's day or the annual Pigskin Pigout for the University of Hawaii Athletic Department, the heart of Murphy's shines through. I always know when I walk into Murphy's I will get smiles, great food and great ambience. Cheers should have been filmed here at Murphy's because they could have just rolled the cameras. Murphy's, as we say in Hawaii is simply "no ka oi." If I was ever interested in owning this kind of business, I would mimic EVERY aspect of this operation and steal their ideas shamelessly. I just don't know how you can get people to care so much.
