No-frills eatery with outdoor dining serves teriyaki beef, fresh fish and lunch plates at cheap prices.

BANG for your buck.
This is a hole in the wall where you will get large portions of good food fast. For the price of a plate lunch and a drink, you can barely get a plate lunch at the "quickie" chain. My favorite is the teri steak with brown gravy all over. That first bite of macaroni salad with gravy is heavenly. The meat is tasty, juicy, and tender. By the time you pay for your order, it is hot and fresh, neatly packed and ready to go. This is the real thing, take it from a local who has been coming to Kapahulu for 30+ years for the delicious plate lunches,

The King of Plate Lunches.
There's a reason why the parking lot is always full at this place with surfers, businesspeople, teenagers etc. The food is good and cheap! The boneless chicken plate or mix plate(teri-beef, boneless chicken & breaded fish) are my favorites. The plate lunches are such a classsic here is that Univ. of Hawaii Football Coach June Jones, takes his recruits here on weekend visits to indoctrinate them to the Hawaii lifestyle.
