LOVE!!!.
DISCOVERED THIS PLACE THIS MORNING AND I LOVE IT! KIND OF LIKE A HOLE IN THE WALL PLACE BUT SOOOOO GOOD. GOOD PRICES TOO.
I WAS SEATED RIGHT AWAY, MY BREAKFAST ONLY TOOK 10 MINUTES TO MAKE, I GOT A REFILL ON MY COFFEE WITHOUT ASKING, AND I WAS EVEN ASKED HOW MY MEAL WAS.
THE WAITRESSES ARE OLDER BUT THEY SEEMED OLD LADY NICE. THEY ALL SEEMED TO BE HUSSELING AS FAST AS THEY COULD GO AND REALLY PAYING ATTENTION TO PEOPLE.
Senior Center.
Wow, is this a senior center.
I was surprised to see alot of elderly women working as waitresses. There is nothing wrong with that but most of them looked "Grouchy". My family and I arrived at about 8a.m. the cashier in the front is the hostess as well, she seemed unfriendly for being the only young'n in there. The breakfast was good, but our waitress seemed to be irratated by our whinning children, I saw her go to the other old waitresses and bicker about us with most of them glancing over at our table. We felt embarrased. I was gonna say something but I didnt want to ruin the day for my family, so upon our departure, I told the unhappy cashier that it was a shame to have entered the restaurant greeted by dissapointed faces and that she and the waitresses should be working in the kitchen where customers cant see them. No more will I ever step in that restaurant again.
Friends recommended the hamburgers.. If you tell the locals you've been here, they smile 'cause they know it. If you tell them it wasn't that great, they smile 'cause they know that, too...
Editorial Review by Christy Buena. Locals flock for breakfast platters at the 70s retro restaurant located across form the Hilton Hawaiian Village.
Good Food, Good Prices!. Wailana is open 24 hours a day which is good for jetlagging Mainland tourists. We had a very nice breakfast here; my husband ordered the local specialty of Spam & Portugese sausage and was very pleased. Service is very fast and friendly but we never felt rushed. The lunch and dinner menus looked appealing, but we weren't in the area long enough. Considering how expensive dining can be in Hawaii, this was a pleasant surprise. We will visit again next time we're in Waikiki.
