Amazing Bakery. The bakery is truly amazing and worth eating at. The Malasadas are delicious. It's a nice, long walk from Waikiki, which I recommend. Don't hesitate to make this a stop on your trip.

Nothing Compares to Leonard's Quality and Prices. Drive, walk, run, whatever you need to do to get to this place for donut lovers! Heck, you do not even have to be a fan of pastries to try their heavenly tasting malasadas. Krispy Kreme? Who are they? Leonard's can be spotted as you drive along Kapahulu--you can't miss their 1950's sign as you round the corner. Parking is very limited and people will park and try to double park just to eat at Leonard's. We even saw someone take a cab to this place with the meter running while they stood in line to buy a malasada. You can order these fresh, soft, mouth watering delectables with either their filling of the month (ie. mango creme, banana creme) or you can order their originals. Service is excellent and these freshly made pastries come out fast and hot.

The best malasadas you can find anywhere.... I have been consuming malasadas from Leonard's probably since I began eating table food. It helped that my Grandma's house in Kahala was a short drive away, and when we spent time with Grandma (which was often), she'd take us to Leonard's after dinner sometimes for fresh malasadas. The sweet bread is also delicious and the coffee cakes as well. Sunday breakfast at Grandma's was never complete without a cheese coffee cake from Leonard's. Most of my childhood birthday cakes came from Leonard's too. When I go home to Hawaii, a stop by Leonard's is a must. I love that the pink interior is the same as it was since I was in preschool! Visits to Leonard's always bring back fond memories.

Do breakfast like a local: Pick up some savory malassadas from a beloved local bakery.. In Short
Ready yourself for a day in paradise with a few malassadas and a steaming, hot cup of java on Kapahula Avenue. Founded in 1952 by Laurence Leonard, this landmark bakery--located a short drive from Waikiki beach--has become a staple of Honolulu culture. The recognizable pink and white boxes are delightful, but the sweet treats inside are what keeps locals coming back. Light, fluffy and drenched in cinnamon sugar, the Hawaiian version of the doughnut is called the malassada and this is the place to get them. Originally a Portuguese treat, Leonard's malassadas are still handmade. The bakery offers plenty of additional options for sugar junkies, including Portuguese sweet bread.

Yummy masaladas (portugese doughnuts). Worth the trip, about 2 miles from the Waikiki beach strip. Located in a local area--you don't see much tourists around here. The Masaladas are made very hot and very fresh. Stick with the original. =)

Fabulous!. I was taken to Leonard's by a friend who insisted I try malasadas nowhere else but here. I don't ever eat donuts, but I am so glad I made an exception for Leonard's! I loved it. Get your order, and park yourself on the bench or curb outside the bakery and enjoy your malasadas right away. They're sooo much tastier if you eat them immediately while they're piping hot!

Ono Malassadas!. Leonard's is just one of those places that every tourist to Hawaii must go to. Their malassadas just melt in your mouth. My friends and I always pick up a box before we go to the north shore to eat on the way.

Be a local. My visit to Honolulu had scheduled a visit to Leonard's because of Citysearch. The "off the beaten paths" and "local" favorites found in your reviews were the best meals we had here. The front desk staff at the Radisson Waikkiki even recommended Leonard's. This place is a must if you have a sweet tooth. We tried a few different malassadas (custard, coconut, chocolate & cinnamon) and they were all delicious. We ate on a bench outside the bakery (only room for 6 or 7 people, so you may end up doing some juggling). I would say skip on the coffee...just blah.

Fantastic!!!. A never-fail delight! The review on Food Network doesn't do it justice. Hot, sweet, fluffy - fantastic! A must-do stop in Honolulu.

YUMMY. Leonard's is by far the best malasada shop around!!! There are other shops, like Champion Malasadas, but they don't measure up to the quality of Leonard's. The actual doughnut is cooked all the way through!!!
