Indigo was referred to us to be the caterer for our wedding. We contacted Greg of Indigo and told him that we're on a tight budget. He sent us a quote right away which we appreciated. We sent him back our comments, asking if it was possible to cut down the cost per person and to cut back on services (wait staff, chefs, bartender). We've never been married before so we didn't have any ideas about whether our suggestions were realistic, but we were ONLY ASKING. I guess we may have hurt Greg's ego because he never contacted us again, despite us reassuring him (in numerous subsequent emails) that we'd love to work with him and we're simply trying to find ways to fit Indigo in our budget. I finally called Greg and he did not seem excited to talk to me. I had the impression that he simply wished we'd just go away - our wedding was small (75 to 80 people) and it was not going to be worth his time. Greg sounded arrogant and condescending on the phone. He would say things like SO YOU DIDN'T WANT INDIGO TO HANDLE THIS, HOW DO YOU THINK YOU'RE GOING TO DO THAT YOURSELVES??? He was really annoying. It took a lot to keep myself from hanging up on him. As a professional, I know that that's not how you should conduct your business. He's in an industry where he's going to come across brides, like me, who are trying to find ways to cut back on wedding costs. He should understand that it's nothing against Indigo. I think he shouldn't take offense to someone merely inquiring about how to cut back on their catering bill. I guess a bride with an unlimited budget might fare better with Greg! For our upcoming wedding on Oahu, we're now considering Cater to Me and Ginniberries. They are great and care about large AND SMALL weddings.

I've been to Indigo twice on my travels to Oahu. Such a great place! Like a tropical retreat in the middle of Chinatown. On the last trip my husband and I'd just ate dim sum so we headed to Indigo one afternoon for lava flows and dessert! Mmmm! The lava flows were delicious! My hubbie had a mango sorbet and I had the generously portioned ginger creme brulee. It was just the sweet treat we needed before heading back to Waikiki after a day of shopping and sightseeing. Sit outside and soak up the ambience. Two thumbs up even though the guy at the front ignored us for about 5 minutes while he talked on the phone!! Talk about unprofessional! A server had to come seat us...
Pros: frozen drinks, desserts. atmosphere
