Must visit, best local Hawaii food

If you visit Honolulu you must stop by Helena’s for the local food, the pork, salmon, chicken, and rib were all excellent, we tried this place for the first time to Hawaii, the restaurant is small, can sit about 46 people. It was always very busy, so we ordered take out and the food still good after 30 minutes car drive back to our hotel. For the first timer, try the local poi in small portion/order, it’s getting some used to it. All the meat disks are so good. I will definitely came back and visit again when I go to Honolulu. The price is so reasonable and very friendly serving staffs, you will love this place!!

Excellent Service, Excellent Food

Situated in a neighborhood of small businesses, this little "hole-in-the-wall" restaurant offers many traditional and authentic Hawaiian dishes. We learned it's best to get there when they first open, or you will be waiting for a table outside the restaurant. The size of the restaurant allows 7 tables for customers, with no standing room to speak of; however, it's worth the wait, outside. Customer service is friendly and their signature dish of beef ribs is to die for. The waitress was very astute to see we were newcomers and recommended different dishes for us to try. All of it was tasty and of good quality!
