Editorial Review for Ala Moana – by Suz Andreasen
The Scene
The scent of plumeria flowers greets you as you enter this 50-acre, open-air shopping heaven. From some of Hawaii's most unique shops to chains including Tiffany & Co. and Williams-Sonoma, the variety is staggering. With more than 240 stores and prices lower than the Waikiki boutiques, people come from as far as Tahiti just to do their holiday shopping--really.
The Goods
Sure you can stick to the stores you know, but this is the place to stock up on Hawaiian treasures. Classic Aloha Wear from Reyn Spooner is a must-have for any visitor, and a pound of locally grown Kona coffee makes a great gift. An array of local artisans sell handcrafted quilts, jewelry, pottery, dried leis and much more. After you've saturated your senses with a few choice purchases, head to the food court or catch the daily live entertainment at center court.

Alamoana has everything. Food, live music, shopping, and more. Besides having upscale stores, there are several stores offering local items and gifts visitors can purchase for other people.

THe Harley Davidson Store has a line of shirts that you can only buy in Hawaii. Great store, great service. A very special gift to take home.
