Terrible service!.
I'm a local and I would not eat here again - the service is terrible! If I could, I would give it zero starts (but 1 star is the lowest). I was attending a conference at the HI Convention Center which is a short walk away and could have chosen to eat at any of the good restaurants at McCully Shopping Center. Since I had a coupon from the local newspaper, I thought we would eat at Phuket Thai. The coupon was for a free order of crispy noodle appetizer (Mee Krob), with any one entree order. After ordering a salad, a couple of entrees and rice, our waitress told us that they had run out of Mee Krob. How can you run out of a popular appetizer? How can you run out of an appetizer that you're currently running a coupon for? So we kindly asked if they would substitute something else. Since our waitress was new, she told us that she would ask the head waitress. She came back and told us "no." We asked to speak to this head waitress. She came to our table and told us "no" very firmly - she did not smile and was not friendly in any way. If we had not had a guest with us, we would have left and eaten at another restaurant. Since there was no Mee Krop, we ordered another entree. To our surprise, at the end of our meal, the waitress said that she would bring a tapioca dessert since they did not have any Mee Krob. What happened next was even more shocking - she brought ONE tapioca dessert and 3 spoons! Did she think that the 3 of us (we clearly didn't look like we were related) were going to all dig into a communal parfait glass? This was very embarrassing for our guest! I would never recommend this restaurant to my family and friends. There are many other Thai restaurants in Honolulu with just as good food - but much better service!

Blech!.
Blech! Just wasted a bunch of money on yucky food here.
We were here a few years ago and it was good but it has gone way down hill. The dining room was dingy with worn, dirty carpet. Everything on the appetizer platter we ordered was leaden and greasy ... none of the delicate, balanced flavors that we had remembered. Started eating and then looked down to see a hair on my plate. Som tum was crunchy but overly salty which could have been a hefty dose of msg. (Come to think of it I remember having a conversation with friends about how much msg Phuket uses.) Our entree of sweet and sour fish was also heavy on the salt (and msg) in a red gloppy sauce. I was starved when I came in but after a few bites of each dish I lost my appetite. What a waste of money and food since obviously we didn't want to take it home with us. Bummer! Don't make the same mistake!

Very pleasently surprised by Great Thai food.
We literally stumbled upon this restaurant very close to Honolulu downtown since we couldn't find Keo's. Boy, was it a find. This is fantastic restaurant and we're both vegetarian so was still very cool. There was a long wait - so this is where the local's eat good Thai food. Don't remember the names of the dishes we tried but a "vegetarian rice noodle" dish was awesome.
