Groupon Buyer for Mandara Spa - BEWARE.
I learned from one of the spa concierge reps that Groupon and Travelzoo vouchers redeemable at Mandara WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED on Saturdays AND the second option for $150 value is NOT VALID FOR USE before April 5th, 2013. Nowhere, in the fine print or otherwise, do any of these rules appear and you will be sorely disappointed and RIPPED OFF if you buy this without this knowledge. Also be smart, and figure out what your total cost will be even after applying the voucher. Ex. if applying the $200 voucher to a $195 service, you will forfeit the $5, they will add tax to the $195 AND 20% on top of that as a REQUIRED gratuity to total $245; the $45 will be out of pocket, and when added to the $99 you already paid you will have paid $144. Judge for yourself whether that's worth it. AUWE (uncool), Mandara and Groupon. Also the last two times I visited, their hot tub was broken. Stay away from this place. It has definitely seen better days!

Better off going to a Day Spa.
If you are looking for a relaxing spa experience or superior customer service this is NOT the place to go. When I come home to visit, my husband and I like to treat ourselves to a "day off". So we thought the Mandara Spa would be a perfect place to get some R&R from the kids. We were very dissapointed with our visit. First off, you pay as soon as you check in and 20% is automatically added to the bill. I think they do this for the Japanese tourists who are not used to tipping. I think tipping should be based on quality of service. So to have to tip even before the service is done is insane especially when the service you receive is very poor. When I booked the appt I asked for the 60 min pedicure and when I arrived I was told that I was booked for the 45min. The pedicure area is not relaxing and I felt like they wanted people in and out. It was one of the worst pedicures I have had!!! I was also not offered a beverage or told about the facilites upon check in. The "spa" pool is open to all hotel guests and very noisy. I think I will take the drive to Ko'olina next time - better service and relaxation!!!
