Worst of Kailua. I used to enjoy Pinky’s because of one or two items and one specific drink. I was willing to put up with the loud acoustics, rowdy patrons, and less than stellar service because of the location and I liked the old manager. Recently things have gotten worse and the staff has changed including the manager. I can honestly say that I take every opportunity to tell people to go anywhere besides Pinky’s unless they want cold, badly prepared food, poor service, uncomfortable chairs and an unreasonably loud experience.

A few months ago two massive roaches crawled across my foot. Now the restaurant is on the canal and these things happen. I told the manager and he was really nice about it and even discounted my meal. The next time I went back the new manager was on duty and it was a disaster. I first ordered soup, and it was cold, then a replacement entre that was inedible, and finally settled for a medium well done burger because, seriously, how hard is it to cook a burger. Evidently it’s a challenge because even our waiter agreed it was bloody. I eventually decided the leftovers in my fridge had more appeal and did not replace the order.

That same night a patron sitting at the next table grew weary of my talk about poor food and began to verbally abuse me stunning everyone at the table. Instead of confronting the obviously wasted patron the manager and waiter allowed him to verbally abuse our table and that is totally unacceptable. This experience showed me that change is not always for the best and that the new management seems to be doing their best to run Pinky’s into the ground. Hey guys, it’s working.

There are way too many great places to eat so don’t waste your money or your time at an establishment that doesn’t care about their guests and serves up consistently poor food along with their cockroaches.

A terrific Kailua watering hole. After having read some of the other reviews I gotta chuckle, yeah this is not the place to come if you want to woo a date with a memorable dinner, unless you are willing to risk a bad memory...

But I gotta say here that Pinky's is one of those classic Hawaiian watering holes. The pupu's (appetizers) are good and can make a nice meal at the bar especially during happy hour when they're cheap too. There are several flat screen HDTV's that show sports, lot's of bar seating and friendly patrons to talk story with. The place is bright and colorful the staff is friendly, the prices are good and the parking is adequate. The drawback to the place is that it closes at 10 PM because of the proximity to the nearby residential homes that caused a restriction in the past. I reccomend ordering a "Pinkirita" and Kalua pig nachos at happy hour. You'll leave full and still have money to play with later. On second thought take your date and order a pitcher of Pinkiritas! Bad Dining Experience. Aloha.

I've been a patron of Pinkies for year but today is the last time I will be going there. We arrived for dinner at arround 7:00PM, The place was busy and it took about 15 minutes to get seated (not bad) BUT once we got seated it took over 50 minutes for the waitress to get our order...Then, it took an additional 45 minutes for the food to be delivered to the table...The fish I ordered was burned, the vegetables cold....The waitress that we had only showed up to our table once and never offered anything else.....

I'm not a picky person by no means...but waiting 50 minutes to get server and another 45 to get crappy food is just not where I want to spend my money in Kailua.....there are so many other places that I would spend my money from now on.

A Great Neighborhood Family Pub. Take a British or Irish Pub and convert it to Hawaii- Pacific Island style and you have Pinky's. As well traveled patrons of restuarants around the world my husband and I give Pinky's a recommendation as a family style pub with average to excellent fare. The carrot cake compares favorably to the best in the country, whi ch is at Gibson's in Chicago). They lost a great cajun salmon when chef Ola left. Tuesday Balloon night is great fun for the kids and Marines and families alike are comfortable in this friendly neighborhood pub.

Denny's By A Different Name. The food here is not very good. It's basically Denny's grade food but at a higher price. The drinks are good and the desserts look really good but the main courses are nothing to get excited about. So just go sit in the bar and have a dessert with your Mai Tai.
