With its distressed-wood bar and framed "Gump"-isms, this franchise is teaming with kitschy fun. Chock-full of movie memorabilia, framed still images from the film line the walls while Depression-era props perch on shelves. Expect a piped-in, good-time vibe: Smiling servers quiz diners on movie trivia. Popcorn shrimp, peel-and-eat shrimp, shrimp po' boys--practically every preparation Bubba ever conceived is available in huge portions for not much money.

Ok Food, Bad Service. However, Hush Puppies a must!. I love the Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. in San Francisco, but was not too happy with my service or the food here. Our waitress was pleasant enough, but she never one checked on us during the meal. When we put the ?Stop? sign to get the attention of a member of the wait staff we had the same busser twice who gave us attitude when we asked for silver wear or for our salad that we did not receive. In the end our salad was not brought to us, but we were still charged for it. The waitress, however, fixed our receipt once we informed her we never received our salad.

I normally love the shrimp platter that comes with coconut shrimp, hush puppies, fried shrimp, and peel and eat shrimp, but the peel and eat shrimp tasted anything but fresh. They were so bad in fact that I felt instantly sick upon eating them. Needless to say we left them in tact. Also the french fries were soggy and dripping with oil. They might have well been oil fries, because that is all you could taste. The hush puppies and fried shrimp, however, were delicious as usual.

I have to say this is my second time having less than par food here and bad service. The price is a little too inflated for the poor quality overall of food, but the portions are big. I suggest sharing an entree if you choose to eat here, but I'm sure there are much better shrimp restaurants in Waikiki. I just need to find them. I do recommend the hush puppies. They are just delicious fried morsels of shrimp, cornmeal, and white fish cooked to perfection.

Not worth it!. I love shrimp so I was excited about trying Bubba Gump. But unfortunately the only thing I liked that I ate was the onion rings. Our group ordered the appetizer Run Across America Sampler which was fun to try but the Spicy Chicken Strips which I love at fast food places I couldn't stand here! I couldn't even bring myself to finish one! The dinner salad I ordered had salad dressing on it after I ordered it on the side. Our entrees were NOT taken away when our desserts arrived. And when they did remove our plates to make room for the dessert they left all the shrimp shells and dirty napkins on the table without leaving clean ones when our dessert arrived. No one wants to look at shrimp shells while they are trying to eat cake! By the way, the "You Have To Share" Chocolate Cake is truly big enough to share but despite its delicious appearance the cake portion was tasteless and the frosting was too sweet. Kids would probably love this place for the fun atmosphere, the waiters delivering Forest Gump trivia, the movie Forest Gump playing in the restaurant and the cheerful birthday songs they put the celebrants through. But I think for a decent seafood meal, go somewhere else.
