view & uploadThe Best Casual Dining Experience with a View and Aloha!. Tiki's is on the upswing again with Executive Chef Ronnie Nasuti at the helm. Whether you go for lunch, dinner, or just cocktails and the view, you'll be impressed with their ability to provide great service in a casual environment. It's fun, and for all of the places in Hawaii, the staff has a genuine Aloha for the guests that visit. And the food id AMAZING! Try the signature salmon, or the prime rib poke. The artichoke chicken with pancetta pasta is also delicious, and their sauce for the coconut shrimp is out of this world! Oh yeah, the 1944 Mai Tai is easily the best on the island! Do I sound a little biased? I am. It's the best restaurant in Hawaii!
gone downhill. I worked at Tiki's in 2003-04 and it was great. The chef and pastry chef were amazing and management was fantastic. Everyone was proud to be part of such a great restaurant. I moved to the mainland (cont. U.S.) in '04 but looked forward to returning to Tikis for a great meal with each visit home. In a visit home only a month ago, I dragged my mother and brother to the restaurant for dinner. I was disappointed and disgusted to find out how much Tikis had gone downhill. The service was below average and the menu had not only eliminated the best appetizers and entrees but the few that they had kept on the menu were not nearly the quality they used to be. The decline of this restaurant saddens me because I used to recommend this place to EVERYONE I knew and now I feel compelled to recommend people NOT to go.
nice ambience. at night there is a "one man band" playing acoustic and singing songs from many genres. he is quite entertaining. sitting on the patio with the beach in the background and tiki torches lit up, makes it relaxing. the servers were friendly and prompt with our beers. i enjoyed the calamari appetizer. the mahi mahi dinner was good, but i would have preferred different sides.
Worst "Local" Food in Hawaii. Tiki's is a bad and insulting joke to Hawaii. After ordering the Sea Bass special, which was dry, dull, and 30 dollars, I asked the manager what the vision of the restaurant was. "Stephanie" claimed the vision of the restaurant was to provide "memorable guest experiences at a reasonable price." Aside from being incredibly rude and condescending, Stephanie was right in only one respect: a memorable guest experience. My memorable experience consisted of a horrible, pompous server, "Matt," an overpriced dinner, and a nauseating feeling that this place is on the decline. The chairs were falling apart, the table was not straight, the silverware was filthy, and the staff was clearly miserable down to the management. Stay away from this place.
