Editorial Review for Ketchum – by Melissa Stampley Gage
The Scene
Located just one mile from Sun Valley, this small, laid-back town that Hemingway once frequented features the bulk of the area's bars, restaurants, hotels and shops. Most attractions are concentrated in the blocks surrounding the intersection of Main Street and Sun Valley Road. River Run Plaza, one of Baldy's jumping off points, is at the southwestern edge of town.
The Experience
Down-to-earth and accessible, the restaurants of Ketchum (many of them Western-themed) are friendly, the shops unique and the town easy to navigate. Among the quaint stores, Iconoclast offers new and used books, including first editions and a large section devoted to Hemingway. Need to recharge? A cozy coffee shop is just around every corner. Forget some ski equipment? Bypass pricey resort stores and opt for used gear from the local thrift shop. If you're looking for nightlife, some of Sun Valley's most hoppin' spots are located along Main Street.
