There is no better spa on Oahu than Honu You in Kailua. Nestled in a small professional building with its front door facing a fast food drive thru window, one might overlook this oasis of peace and care. I am so thankful that I didn’t! My first appointment was with Jennifer for a Wow Brow. We spent no less than 15 minutes talking before I lay down for the treatment. Jennifer then measured and marked multiple times before the first strip of wax touched my skin. I have really sensitive skin and expected pain when she removed the wax and a strip of angry red skin leftover. I was pleasantly surprised. I did have some redness but was able to go out afterwards without looking like I’d just had a treatment. During this appointment Jennifer and I also talked about the changes my skin has been going through since my husband and I moved to the islands last year. I’d been feeling like a hormonal 16 year-old the way my skin had been breaking out from all of the exposure and sunscreen; and I’d reached an age where spots and lines were becoming more noticeable and frustrating. I scheduled an appointment for a deep cleansing facial and have been going back every 6 weeks. My face has been completely transformed. Jennifer and I sit and talk before each appointment. She asks a lot of questions regarding my daily regime and areas of concern. I never feel rushed and leave with a sense that I’ve done something good for my skin and my soul. All of the treatments are nicely priced and you don’t have to worry about gratuity or an extra tax being added on to your bill. What you see listed is what you pay. I would highly recommend Honu You to anyone who wants more from their skin and needs help getting it. If the appointment time you want is not available, ask to be placed on the wait list. I usually do this and get in fairly quickly. Beth at the front desk is fantstic and will do all she can to help.

Honu You rocks! I absolutely love this little slice of heaven in Kailua town. It doesn't get any better than this beautiful upscale Hawaiian-style day spa, complete with free convenient parking. From my own experience, Honu You trumps Bliss Spa in Manhattan for both massage and facials. Plus, you can't get a Lomi Lomi massage at Bliss, and when I visit Hawaii I much prefer this island experience. From the first moment I entered Honu You, I felt embraced by the friendly courteous staff. Aloha abounds in this relaxing oasis. On my initial visit, several years ago, a thorough history was taken, followed-up by a consultation with the spa owner, Jennifer Mehau. For my wedding two years ago, Jenn gave me my very first bikini waxing. She was extremely professional, and I was so relieved to be covered throughout the treatment. It was a stress-free and painless experience. Jenn is the best - no ka oi! And, oh yes, Honu You uses the same superior wax as Bliss. My favorite treatment is the fabulous Power Regeneration Facial, which leaves me looking positively radiant.To keep my skin fresh and glowing, Jenn recommended that I use the Epicuren Discovery Six-Step System, and their Sunscreen SPF 45. I have become a devotee of Epicuren products; and thanks to Jenn's expert instruction, I am thrilled with the amazing results I get at home. Similar facials using Epicuren products will cost you twice as much at Turtle Bay Resort, or Spa Halekulani. Since I am a huge fan of Honu You, I love to share their products and services with my family and friends in Hawaii. It's so simple to call in my order from the Mainland. A lovely gift certificate is elegantly wrapped, for free, and promptly mailed. My loved ones are very grateful to receive these terrific gifts which already include the tax, tip and free parking.
