More like Yuk-kei.
Hakkei was absolutely fantastic when they first openend. The head chef was so meticulous in his preparations and service was also spectacular.
I think it started going downhill in fall of 2009. It started with the deep fried items - always overcooked, dark in color and extremely dry. Then it filtered to the other dishes as well - overly sweet, one dimensional flavors and saltier than usual, dark colored sauces.
Service slowly deteriorated and they began serving cheap genmai tea. Such a ptiy.
