It seems, by all the reviews I've read about this place, that you will probably get a good service if you go directly to the store. But if you're like me and you live in Canada, you have to rely on emails to ask questions.

Sent then 3 emails about a specific Kamaka ukulele that I wanted. I never got any replies!!! That's very bad to me cause if I buy the ukulele and something bad happens during transport, I'll need to communicate this information to the people at the store in order to rectify the situation. But since they don't answer any emails, I'll be stuck with the problem.

So my advice to internationnal buyers just like me, is not to order anything with Hawaii Music Supply. The communication is just non-existing.

But they do have a great website full of nice video.

Best place to buy your ukulele!. Really into this place, especially their website! They've recently moved to Haleiwa and now only sell ukuleles. Their website has got to be one of the best music store websites out there. The owner mentioned that they are launching a new improved website soon. The current one has videos, lessons, awesome pictures and great write ups, so not sure what he meant by "improved". The one thing that I always read about their shop is that they set up every one of their ukuleles! Which is awesome, if u didnt know! Also-If you are an ukulele lover, then you prob know of MGM. MGM recently started working for HMS at their new Haleiwa store. The expertise that comes from this shop is amazing!

I wouldn't shop online with whem.. Nov.18. I guess you have to contact them by phone. Have asked questions on their blog, Emailed them several times all without any response. Will try to do business with them and probably write another review but for now they get only 2 stars for lack of communication. UPDATE Nov.30 I went ahead and made an order with them on Wed. the 16th. Still no response. Tried to call them and the person who answered the phone asked if I could wait and sat the phone on the counter and forgot. I waited a full 30 min. (as per cell phone timer) and gave up. So after 2 and maybe 3 Emails and one phone call I have never have had any contact with them. Wrote on their customer service blog about multiple Emails and the forgotten phone call, hoping to get a response. Added a line about how I should have spent my money locally and it was deleted from their blog. You will only see positive comments on their website. Received my new Ukulele yesterday Nov. 29. Not sure yet how I like it. Definitely think I would have been better shopping locally in person. Maybe if I lived on Oahu and could have went into their store I would have had a better experience with them.? I now give them 1 star, it won't let me rate a ZERO..
