Not your typical Indian restaurant

I am very sorry to write this review but I will be very sorry if I don't. I visited India about 2 years ago and I fell in love with Indian food. I was living in L.A for almost 5 yrs and I am very used to the flavourful Indian curries and fresh naans, paratha, rice. I recently moved to Oahu and was looking for a decent Indian restaurant to eat. I went to eat at Indian House with my friends. It was a very small and the decour was alright but it was weired to see everything in the restaurant was for sell. Anyway, very Indian curries, old tasted raitas, uncle beans rice, frozen breads ( eventhough we were told that all their breads made fresh from tandoori oven, but it was a lie). I was very disappointed, so did my friends. After paying the sky-high bills we left.
Avoid at any cost...doesnt get any worse

The restaurant is just heating up and giving curries as well as bread from Indian/ethnic stores and charging 4x for that stuff. When I questioned the owner saying this is frozen food that has been re-heated, , he lied and said that its freshly made.
The food is tasteless and may be stale as well. Avoid at any cost.
For the 1st and last time there

The only Indian restaurant on this Island that I found the foods are realllllyyyyy bad. I was there on a sat night for dinner with my husband and the only customers were there, US! No wonder why people don't go there to eat. Very expensive and very Unindian curries ( they use Japanese curry powder to make all curries). Nasty taste but higher prise. The portion of the serving size was very small. They are fooling their customers by saying Tandoori Naan or Tandoori rooti ( all their breads are frozen that they buy from India Market cross the street from them ) when I went to shop at India market after eat at India house. They need changes and please don't lie about using the Tandoori oven ( India house has a very small tandoori oven only to show but not to use). Adios India House.
Needs Improvement!

I arrived at the restaurant to find it empty. Being the only customer at 12 noon, I waited at the door for several minutes before the host, wearing a shirt with kitchen stains, showed me to my table. I chose the lunch special from the menu. The price was not marked on the menu, but it cost $19.95+tax. I was dissapointed to find that the naan bread had mold on the bottom side (not slightly burned flower, but mold). The waiter told me it was homemade, but I recognized the shape and taste as a common prepackaged/frozen item. The rice was of poor quality and not the variety used for Indian cusine. The taste and texture was not authentic. Being from India, I suggest that India House quit duping customers in Hawaii, especially those who may have never eaten Indian food before.
- Pros: Lots of empty seats.
- Cons: , Way overpriced., Bad taste.
